In an effort to expand its global freight operations and increase revenue, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a strategic cargo partnership with Riyadh Air, the newly launched Saudi Arabian carrier.
This agreement will facilitate cargo shipments from Pakistan and London to Riyadh, effective October 29, where they will be distributed to additional destinations through the integrated networks of both airlines.
The new arrangement with Riyadh Air marks a significant step in diversifying and strengthening PIA's logistics network, positioning the airline for sustainable growth in the aviation cargo sector.
Officials expect that this deal will increase PIA's cargo destinations, enhance its logistics capacity, and generate higher income from freight services.
This partnership signifies another strategic move by the airline to capitalise on the rapidly growing cargo market.
The national carrier of Pakistan plans to take its cargo business to multiple international routes, ensuring more efficient and reliable delivery options for exporters.
PIA is already in a partnership with British Airways to transport approximately 1,000 tonnes of cargo to the UK each year.
