Pakistan’s mobile phone industry has reached a major milestone, with a Topline Securities report revealing that 94% of the country’s demand was met through local assembly and manufacturing in the first eight months of 2025.

Notably, this year VGO Tel, Infinix, Vivo, Itel, and Xiaomi were the best-performing brands in the local market, selling 2.33 million, 2.24 million, 1.75 million, 1.53 million, and 1.16 million units, respectively.

Other well-known brands included Tecno, Samsung, Q Mobile, Nokia, and G'Five, with 1.09 million to 0.71 million units sold.

Even though August 2025 saw a 46% month-over-month drop, the local mobile phone manufacturing industry saw a notable 30% year-over-year growth.

The report states that in the first eight months of 2025, 19.7 million locally assembled mobile phones were sold, with smartphones making up 49% of sales and 2G phones making up 51%.

Topline Securities projects that, thanks to new smartphone releases from international brands like Samsung and Xiaomi and comparatively low inflation, mobile phone sales will increase by 7-8% annually over the course of the next 12 months.

Businesses that assemble well-known brands like Tecno, Xiaomi, and Samsung, like Lucky Cement and Airlink Communication, stand to gain from this expansion.

Demand is predicted to increase further in the near future due to the September launch of new smartphones.
