Google is set to announce its Pixel 10 series smartphones at its Made by Google event on Wednesday, and leaks are only ramping up excitement before the big day.

The new Pixel 10 Pro XL is rumoured to use Google's upcoming Tensor G5 chip and is appearing in new benchmark tests with welcome performance scores that decisively overtake the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

The leaks reported by a Reddit user compare the Pixel 10 Pro XL against last year's Pixel 9 Pro XL in various tests. The Pixel 10 Pro XL scored 2,296 in single-core and 6,203 in multi-core on Geekbench 6 compared to the Pixel 9 Pro XL's score of 1,889 in single-core and 4,247 in multi-core.

This demonstrates a 21% improvement in single-core performance and a gigantic 46% improvement in multi-core performance, which emphasises the power of the improved chip.

The benchmark also confirmed the Tensor G5 CPU configuration, which has one core at 3.78 GHz, five cores at 3.05 GHz, and two cores at 2.25 GHz, and was tested with 16 GB of RAM and running Android 16, which will debut on the Pixel 10 family.

Meanwhile, the scores show major improvements overall; the GPU performance had some unexpected misses, which could be refined further in the final version.
