Samsung has officially launched its Galaxy XR headset, based on Project Moohan. The Samsung Android XR headset, built with Google and Qualcomm, is meant to enhance how you discover, work and play by combining an advanced set of AI capabilities in an ergonomically designed element.

The Galaxy XR headset introduces several innovative features along with a OneDesign, lightweight, human-centric look with a separate battery for comfort and a detachable light shield for versatility.

These features offer users a balanced chassis, meaning less facial pressure, accommodating longer use for work, entertainment, or creative purposes.

The device is powered by multimodal AI through Gemini and natural interaction design modes that include voice, gesture, and vision. Users can browse 3D environments in Google Maps, receive personalised consideration, and find items in real time with Circle to Search.

The feature set includes a video pass-through mode, allowing users to see the real world while wearing the headset.

On the entertainment side, the Samsung XR headset features a 4K Micro-OLED display that enables a true cinema experience.

Sports fans can track multiple games simultaneously, while gamers can enjoy gameplay enhanced with AI, with real-time tips and experiences brought in from Gemini.

On top of that, the device can take 2D photos or videos and convert them into 3D, turning everyday moments into immersive experiences.

For creators, the Galaxy XR headset supports Adobe’s Project Pulsar, enabling easy 3D video editing and visual layering on a wide virtual canvas.

Samsung has also announced plans to expand its Android XR ecosystem with AI glasses in collaboration with Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster, combining technology with style and practicality.
