In an event for business owners, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has launched a new digital system called the “Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS).”
The chief minister revealed that this online platform is developed to make business registration and licensing easier across the province.
Notably, the launch event was held at the CM House and attended by Federal Investment Minister Qaiser Shaikh, provincial ministers, leading businessmen and others.
During his speech, Shah stated that SBOSS is a big step forward for the Sindh economy. He explained that the goal is to make it easier to start and run a business in Sindh.
Moreover, the chief minister said that Pakistan’s position in the global Ease of Doing Business index has improved from 147 to 108 in the last three years and platforms like SBOSS will help boost industry even more.
“We need to operate at the pace of the world; otherwise, we will fall behind. Sindh will lead in this industrial development,” he added.
“SBOSS is more than a digital solution – it is a foundational reform in the structure of governance. Sindh is proud to be the first province in Pakistan to operationalise a comprehensive one-window system for business-related regulatory services,” Shah said.
Introduced under the World Bank-supported CLICK Project, SBOSS provides 32 e-licensing services across nine key departments, with future plans to expand to over 130 regulatory and compliance services from 16 departments.
To note, the system works fully online and is linked with national databases such as National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and 1LINK. It also uses blockchain technology to keep data safe and honest.
“Sindh is the first province to launch a comprehensive one-window system for business regulatory services,” he stated.
With the launch of SBOSS, the Sindh government aims to support all types of businesses by making the process smooth, clear and accessible.
The SBOSS’s next phase would include expanding online services and setting up business facilitation centres across the province, along with a 24/7 digital contact centre, according to the chief minister.
