Apple unveiled the much-awaited Apple Intelligence at its “It’s Glowtime” event on Monday along with iPhone 16 series. The integration of artificial intelligence(AI) includes features that were first unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024.
Reportedly, Apple is integrating various AI features on the iPhone 16 series as well as last year's iPhone 15 Pro models that will be available after the rollout of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 in October.

Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.1 update
Writing Tools
With the iOS 18.1 update, Apple is set to introduce AI-powered Writing Tools across different apps including Mail, Messages, and Notes. These tools will have several features such as text summarisation, text generation, text refining, and more.
Notification summarisation
With the iOS 18 update, a new notification summarisation feature will be introduced that will cut the clutter from a large number of notifications in two ways.
Clean Up in images
Apple Intelligence’s new “Clean Up” feature allows users to remove unwanted objects or people from an image.
AI Search in Photos
Apple Intelligence will enable users to search their Photos app and the images stored there with simple language queries using descriptive prompts.
Email Summary
Apple Intelligence can summarise long email threads to prioritise the most important content out of it.
Image Playground
Image Playground, a new Apple tool, lets users generate creative AI images. With three styles available including Animation, Illustration, and Sketch, users can select the one they prefer.
Private Cloud Compute
Apple Intelligence would run on dedicated Apple silicon servers while prioritising privacy for more complex tasks.
Initially, these Apple Intelligence features will be available in US English. However, localised English is expected to be added in December while support for other languages including Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, and French will be added next year.
Notably, other Apple Intelligence features including ChatGPT Integration, the Siri upgrade, Genmoji, and Visual Intelligence will be included in the future iOS 18 updates.
