Users across different cities, including Karachi, in Pakistan, on Monday reported disruption in internet services, following a protest by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

According to Downdetector, users are having difficulties with browsing, as well as downloading and sharing media.

According to the platform's data, around 92% of complaints involved an internet slowdown, around 5% reported a total blackout, and 3% indicated disruptions with browsing.

Internet disruptions are not unusual in Pakistan, as the country has been facing sporadic outages and access hindrances for months for various reasons.

The Sindh government on Sunday announced a province-wide ban on protests, sit-ins, rallies, and public gatherings under Section 144 imposed in Karachi for one month owing to security issues.

The enaction of Section 144 in Karachi follows its imposition in Rawalpindi three days earlier in the wake of TLP rallies, banning protests and gatherings for 14 days.
