WhatsApp has rolled out a redesigned Updates tab, including quick shortcuts to select media, create text-based status updates, and record voice status updates.
The update has improved the floating action button, enabling users to share content in channels, initiate new channels, and create different kinds of status updates.
According to WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out another feature in this update, enhancing accessibility to status creation tools.
Now when users select the floating action button within the Updates tab, two additional shortcuts will appear in the gallery sheet, simplifying the process of creating text-based updates and sharing voice messages as status updates.
In addition, WhatsApp has rolled out a dedicated shortcut to record voice updates, that was previously combined with text status updates. By separating these options, WhatsApp makes voice status updates more visible, encouraging users to explore this feature.
This significant update is especially beneficial for users who were previously unaware of voice status updates as an option. While a few users may see a different interface, this redesigned layout is currently being introduced to a limited number of beta testers, with a broader rollout expected in the near future.
