WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that brings a voicemail-style experience to its calling system, enhancing the user experience.
According to WABetaInfo, users who make a WhatsApp voice call that goes unanswered will now see a “Record voice message” option alongside the familiar “Call again” and “Cancel” buttons.
Notably, this option allows the caller to instantly send an audio message to the recipient without having to leave the call menu.
Moreover, the “Record voice message” button is displayed within the chat window of the contact who missed the call, making it more seamless.
Once recorded, the voice message is delivered directly in the conversation thread, alongside the missed call notification.
WABetaInfo stataed that this ensures that recipients not only see the call alert but also receive the attached voice message, making it simple to stay informed without having to schedule another call or type out a detailed text.
WhatsApp’s voicemail-style feature adds another layer of convenience to its communication tools, making it simple for users to share timely updates.
It is worth noting that the feature is currently available only to select beta testers on Android, while WhatsApp has yet to officially make any statement regarding the launch of this feature to the general public.
