YouTube is rolling out a new shopping feature for Shorts, introducing interactive product stickers that allow creators to tag and promote items directly in their videos.
Similar to Instagram Reels’ sticker functionality, this update replaces the old shopping button with a more engaging, visually integrated tool designed to increase viewer interaction and product clicks.
According to a recent post on YouTube’s support page, the video streaming platform has made the change after testing the feature in May 2025.
The experiment revealed that viewers were 40% more likely to click on product stickers than the previous shopping button, prompting the full rollout of the updated feature.
With product stickers, eligible creators and businesses can tag multiple items in a Shorts video. The first tagged product automatically generates the sticker, which can be resized and repositioned within the video using the YouTube mobile app.
If creators want the sticker to feature a different product, they can simply reorder their product list.
For viewers, tapping the sticker will redirect them to the retailer’s website, making the shopping experience seamless. If multiple products are tagged, a down arrow on the sticker will allow users to explore the full list.
This global feature is available to all users except those in South Korea, though YouTube says support for that market is coming soon.
