In a recent mobile service quality evaluation report by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Zong has surpassed Jazz, emerging as the top performer in the latest Quality of Service (QoS) Survey.
The survey was conducted by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) during the third quarter of 2025. It evaluated the performance of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) across 17 cities and 2 major road routes.
Routes chosen for the survey included main roads, service lanes, and key residential and commercial areas. Using a cutting-edge automated QoS Monitoring and Benchmarking Tool, mobile devices tested voice, SMS, and mobile broadband services in technology auto-detect mode.
The assessment's primary focus was on compliance with Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) licenses and the Cellular Mobile Network QoS Regulations, 2021.
The results ranked the telecom firms based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in categories such as Mobile Network Coverage, Voice Services, and Mobile Broadband Speed. Following Zong and Jazz, Ufone secured third place, with Telenor in fourth.
While most operators met standards for data upload and download speeds, some voice service KPIs fell short in certain areas. Operators utilising advanced technologies like LTE Carrier Aggregation and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) demonstrated superior performance.
In light of the findings, the PTA has directed all CMOs to implement corrective measures to enhance service quality.
For those willing to take a closer look at the latest PTA survey, wherein Zong beat Jazz, detailed results are available on the official PTA website.
