As Pakistan continues to bear the brunt of intermittent internet slowdowns and connectivity disruptions, 5G is set to be launched in Pakistan and boost connectivity, with ZONG leading the charge in this digital transformation.

In a bold move to bring the next-gen broadband technology in the country, Zong has partnered with a Chinese tech giant specialising in telecommunications, ZTE, to conduct an extensive five-day training programme focused on 5G network design, capacity planning, and modernisation.

The initiative indicates Zong's commitment to technological excellence and workforce development as the telecom giant prepares for its nationwide 5G rollout.

The training programme was meant to equip Zong’s teams in planning, optimisation, implementation, and operations with the right skills needed for the upcoming 5G infrastructure.

Participants delved into three key areas:

  • 5G network design and planning: This segment was based on crucial planning procedures, optimising coverage and capacity, and designing radio network parameters, enabling learners to create efficient next-generation networks.
  • Network modernisation and solution architecture: This part of the training focused on integrating new technologies into existing frameworks, offering insights into 5G NR site solutions and microwave solutions for scalability and reliability.
  • Technology evolution and industry applications: Attendees in this section learned about 5G design principles, trends, and real-world applications, gaining a broader perspective on how 5G innovations will transform various industries and enhance customer experiences in Pakistan.

This partnership is not only a testament to Zong's investment in human capital and innovation, but it also positions Pakistan at the forefront of the 5G evolution.

As Zong equips its workforce and networks for 5G, it seems enhanced telecom connectivity is on Pakistan's horizon.
