Merely a week following its announcement during last week's The Android Show event, Google's promise of rebranding Find My Device on Android has come to fruition.

This being the case, users will see Find My Device renamed as "Find Device" on their smartphones' homescreens.

Might be to your surprise, the rebranding of Find My Device also brings a spate of new features allowing users to locate not just devices but also people, Android Police reported.

The ability to track people on Find My Device remained in Beta version for some time, and now it's finally making it to device homescreens with the Find Hub update. Cut short, it's now accessible to everyone.

Under the updated tracking app, users can find “Find Hub” and “Google Location Sharing” in Settings. The Find Hub feature has the standard settings, allowing users to set up Remote Lock, offline finding, and access the web version. Bear in mind that Find My Device's web version has also been renamed.

The Google Location Sharing option enables users to manage their location settings after sharing location through a Google app or service.

Aside from the name, Find Hub is going to gain a few more notable improvements, as Google has confirmed that it will soon support satellite connectivity and ultra-wideband (UWB) tracking, eventually becoming an optimal tool for accurate and reliable location tracking.
