The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) on Sunday issued an advisory, urging citizens not to rely on unverified and speculative social media posts regarding passenger offloading incidents and advised them to only trust official sources for any information.

Taking to Facebook, the authority stated: "The public is requested to seek information from official sources instead of relying on unverified news regarding offloading. FIA gives top priority to transparency and adherence to the law in its policies.

"For any kind of guidance, call FIA Helpline 1991 or contact the following email to register a complaint," added the FIA.

Any misleading claims circulating online create unnecessary fear and confusion among travellers. An FIA spokesperson stressed that the agency prioritises transparency and strict adherence to the law in all its policies and procedures.

The agency further added that the main concern of FIA Immigration is to ensure travellers' safety and give the best possible facilitation.

Passengers carrying complete and valid travel documents are not offloaded. The FIA has advised the public to always travel abroad through safe and legal means and avoid believing misleading information circulating on social media.
