In light of a considerable of portion of Hajj 2026 quota being available, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has initiated the second phase of applications for the government's Hajj 2026 scheme.
Under the government's Hajj scheme for the year 2026, the second phase of Hajj 2026 applications has been opened to let unregistered pilgrims apply, primarily due to lower-than-expected submissions in the first phase.
Citing official data, Samaa.tv noted that only 60.3% of the quota has been filled, wherein 71,286 registered pilgrims submitted applications at designated banks over the past six days.
It must be noted that 46,924 seats, out of the total 118,210 seats, remain unfilled, signifying a remarkably low number of application submissions for the next year's Hajj.
As per those in authority, application acceptance will be stopped once the quota is filled, adding that pilgrims can submit their applications along with the first instalment of expenses by 16 August.
The first installment for the long Hajj 2026 package in Pakistan has been fixed at Rs500,000, while the installment for the short Hajj 2026 package in Pakistan is Rs550,000.
Surprisingly, overseas Pakistanis can also apply for Pakistan's Hajj 2026 scheme with the help of close relatives in Pakistan. If they opt to do so, they will be required to submit a medical fitness certificate upon returning to the country.
