Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will soon resume direct flights between Riyadh and Sialkot and Multan, making travel even more convenient with better services.

While speaking to the PTV News, PIA's Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Malik Bilal Ahmed, stated that PIA will commence over 14 weekly flights for the direct routes starting in October 2023.

In PIA's statistics, as many as 200,000 passengers travel from Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to Pakistan each year; the flights are essential for the Pakistani expatriate community.

“The explanation is quite simple: travelling in and out will be made much easier for our passengers, and much better services will be provided,” said Ahmed.

PIA is planning to improve passenger experience with its advanced in-flight entertainment, efficient booking systems, and comfortable, fast, and efficient check-in procedures to ensure passengers have a good experience travelling with PIA products and services.

Ahmed explained that the recent decision to resume previously operated direct routes falls under PIA's comprehensive plan to improve communication between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as families and employees working in the Kingdom.

The Sialkot-Riyadh and Multan-Riyadh routes are both frequently used by expatriate travellers from Punjab who travel back and forth frequently for family trips, business travel, and seasonal holidays.

The return of these direct flights is expected to save travellers significant time compared to connecting flights.

“This step reflects PIA’s commitment to serving its passengers with comfort, efficiency, and reliability,” Ahmed added, stressing that the resumption of these flights will further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
