SBP to remain closed on August 14

With August 14, Pakistan's independence day, fast approaching, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed on the occasion.

In an official statement issued on Monday, the central bank of Pakistan confirmed its closure in observance of Independence Day, stating, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, 14 August 2025, being a public holiday on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan.” 

For those unversed, 14th August is Pakistan's national holiday commemorating the country’s founding in 1947. 

In light of the announcement, it has been clarified that all banking operations at the central bank will be suspended for the day.
