Pakistan’s automotive industry is shifting towards a more sustainable future, driven by the global trend of adopting electric vehicles (EVs) with an aim to reduce fuel-powered vehicles. Whether you're a seasoned car enthusiast or just curious about the future of mobility, EV adoption is poised to make a significant leap towards a more sustainable future.
The trend was clearly visible at PakWheels New Wheels Expo 2025, where visitors looked at EVs such as the Kia EV9, MG HS PHEV, Haval H6 PHEV, and Jetour Dashing, which were presented with lots of attention.

The crowd not only noticed four-wheelers, but electric two-wheelers like Vlektra Bolt, Velocity 180, Elfa EV 125, and Evee C1 Air also drew interest. The attendees, which included car enthusiasts, families and industry officials, did not only attend the event to see the latest models but also had a chance to participate in interactive test drives, which enhanced their experiences, making it memorable.
The event provided a platform for automotive brands to display their latest models, allowing Karachiites to explore EV models, from bold SUVs to stylish sedans and eco-friendly scooters and motorcycles.
The government’s supportive policies, including tax incentives and reduced customs duty on EV parts, are further accelerating this transition.
Talking about the EV adoption with Gadinsider, PakWheels Founder Hanif Bhatti said: “With fuel prices continually rising, EV adoption is becoming increasingly beneficial for the citizens of Pakistan. It will promote a green environment and reduce air pollution.”
As the country continues to adopt EVs, Pakistani citizens can hope to see more innovative models and technologies.
Discussing the experience at the PakWheels New Wheels Expo 2025, MG Motors Marketing Manager Shahrukh Rashid stated: "Events like this should happen regularly in Karachi, as the automotive market evolve towards technological advancement."
With the showcasing and test drive opportunity, PakWheels New Wheels Expo 2025 has set a new benchmark for auto shows in Pakistan.
