Google released the August 2025 Android Canary update to users who were enrolled in the Canary programme right after the Pixel 10 was released.

Customising icon shapes on the home screen is a much-anticipated personalisation feature that this most recent version offers.

The update adds five different icon shape presets to the Wallpaper & Style app, according to information discovered by developer Kieron Quinn.

A variety of shapes are now available to users, including the standard circle, square, four-sided cookie, seven-sided cookie, and arch options.

It is noteworthy that a sixth icon shape—the "complex clover" design that was first seen in March—is noticeably missing.

Although the exact reason for its exclusion is unknown, it is thought that the shape might have conflicted with some icons.

Additionally, the forced icon theming feature that was added in Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1 is not included in this update.

The Canary and QPR beta channels' different build dates and release schedules are probably the cause of this omission.
