YouTube officially revealed the “badges” features in October, but YouTube Music users are now seeing existing ones double instead of getting their December top listener badge.
YouTube Music allows you to earn badges for being a “Top Listener” of an artist/band in any given month, with what percentile you happen to be in noted.
How to access YouTube's top listener badge
If you want to access it, open YouTube Music on Android or iOS and tap your profile avatar in the top-right corner for “Badges.” YTM offers a nice portrait graphic if you tap a card > Share > Save image.
Currently, new top listener badges for the previous month have been appearing on the second or third day of the new month.
This is clearly a bug that YouTube will hopefully address by issuing the actual Top Listener badges for December, as this feature has been received quite well by users.
Outside of music, you can also get them for “being one of the first set of paid members of a creator’s channel or correctly completing quizzes,” along with “having a creator heart your comment.” Notably, you can also use Badges in the main YouTube app.
